Tire Rub Question

Had 265/70/17 Toyo Open Country A/T IIs installed today and am getting rubbing on the front bumper. I half expected this would occur.

Years ago when I did the spacers/FJ springs I followed J.A.'s "Moving the Wheel Well Liner Forward" how-to and will be doing the bumper trim tonight. I have no doubt that this will fix my issue.

My question is: I know I'm only creating ~3/8" clearance between the tire and bumper post-trim. Is there reason to think I'll find more rubbing when articulated off-road?

Related question: With there being notably less space in the rear wheel wells with the new tires, should I expect any rubbing in the rear wells when articulated off-road?

Many of us trim a tad off the front bumper to eleviate the rubbing on the edge of the bumper.

uhhhh. have you tried flexing it and seeing where it may/may not rub?

seems pretty simple.

i had toyo mt2 265/70/17s with daystar 2.5/1.5 and didnt rub at all, and didnt have to trim anything even at full flex. i think with any less lift you will rub.

well if you aren't flexing in the near future don't worry much about it.

i took a straight edge from the tire at its widest on level ground up to the fender, and found where it would rub. its almost always the mudflap area and front fender edge. with 265/70's there won't be much in the way of rubbing, its better to flex it and find out then cut first
