Tire size change questions.

Hello, Will it make a big difference if you go from stock tires/wheels to 275/70R18 or 285/70R18 with General Grabber AT2 tires

Stock TE no lift what would be the max tire size you can go with 18 inch rims.

I mean rubbing and I think its more than 4% size will the brakes be less efficient ?

Those are too big and will rub. Just google "tire size calculator" to get tire sizes and compare them to your stock265/70/17 size. Keep them under 33 but tire tread,rim width,tire manufacturer tolorences and how much fender liner mods depends on how big you can go without rubbing.Alot of variables , that's why easier to copy somebody elses unless you know what your doing.
From the size calculator;
265/70/17=Overall Diameter: 31.60 in
275/70/18=Overall Diameter: 33.15 in
285/79/18=Overall Diameter: 33.70 in

Thank you Harper7, I think the best option would be

275/65R18 or 285/65R18. I would have to go to the store and ask the person there to make sure they don't rub.


275/65R18 = 1.5%

285/65R18 = 3.1%

I would have them do a test fit. If you aren't ordering online, they can put the tire on and make sure it fits before completing the entire job.

This Spring I will be doing the same upgrade to 18" wheels with stock suspension. I will be going with the 275/65/18's.

Yes and no. A test fit that seems ok in the shop might still hit the top of the fender when hitting a bump while driving. Plus there are the other oddities that might not be apparent from a test fit, like I had rubbing only on my driver's side and not the passenger side. Without adjusting caster settings it's going to be impossible to tell for sure if both front tires will rub and how much.
