Tire size / lift options - new owner 3rd Gen 2001

HI!

I bought a 4wd 2001 4Runner and is bone stock except the roof rack I just added. The tires need replacing and are currently the stock 265 70 16. I am weighing my options. Can I install a slightly larger tire without issues with the stock wheels and no lift? If so, what size is recommended without scrubbing?

Alternatively, what kit should I buy for a small lift (not body lift)? Are there any that are easier to install? I am not a wrench by any means and would definitely go this route if the install labor didn't cost so much.

Decide if you're going to lift it before you get the tires.
With a lift you can fit 285/75/16 tires with stock wheels. Very minimal rubbing but it's mendable.

2000 4Runner 2wd

Hey guys, I’m new to all this posting stuff on the forum page but I got some questions. I’ve got a 2000 4Runner that I have done some work to over time. About a year and half ago I installed a 2.5 inch front and rear DayStar Lift. I’d like to add a 3 inch suspension lift soon and throw on some 33’s and maybe even 34’s but I’m not sure if I can have both installed at the same time. Is that a thing? If someone could help that’d be awesome!

none of these people know what they are talking about. 37's or 40's is the way to go with a 2"-3" lift.
