Tire Size suggestion

I just purchased the Tandem wheels for my OR. I have no lift and currently have no plans to lift it.

So now I have to get tires. I have searched but most everything I find that has similiar wheels specs have a lift.

Specs on the wheel are:
17x8.5
-10 offset
Backspacing 4.3

I would like to run 275/70/17 but don't want to rub. Anyone running a similar setup?

Yeah, I checked that chart but it does not mention different offset or backspacing specs. It shows wheel width requirements, but not offset or backspacing.

The chart is assuming using stock backspacing and no spacers.

A few IMO things:

If not a lift, then level with Bilstiens set to 0.85 or 1.5

Larger tires look better and many go to 285, but I don't think it's worth the hassle for the additional width gained. Only about 0.78 inches.

Stay with good looking ATs at 265-70/17, with no hassles.

You'll probably rub. I rubbed running stock size KO2's with that exact wheel offset and backspacing from SCS. You'll have to move the fender liner forward or push back the mud flap. It wasn't excessive or anything and mostly happened in full reverse lock. If you want to run 275's then just do it. Rubbing on a piece of plastic isn't that big of a deal and the fix isn't a big deal either.

It will rub. Fender line mod and some bumper trimming at a minimum, possibly a BMC.

Here's some background on my setup:

Stock TRD PRO - meaning that my bumper was already trimmed by Toyota (happens at port when it's converted).

I upgraded to 17x8.0 with 0 offset with 285/70/17 with Falken Wildpeak AT3W.
I only rubbed at full turn. NO LIFT, I repeat, NO LIFT.

Lifting the truck did not help much - almost negligible. I lifted the truck about a week later, if memory serves me right. I trimmed the bumper after I lifted it.

***I understand that you're looking for 275/70/17 tires but I think you'll end up trimming anyway, regardless of the lift***

To continue with my experience, I swapped over to 17x8.5 with -10mm offset - had to trim even more, a considerable amount more. This is also when I swapped to BFG KO2's (supposedly runs smaller than other brands of the same size). I did not have to touch my mud guards btw.

I'm now on 17 x 9.0 with -38mm. Same tires.
My opinion is that your offset is going to have the biggest factor in how much you need to trim.

Thanks everyone for your background and suggestions. I think I am just going to do the 275s and trim what I need. Possibly even wait to get the tires done when I have the extra cash to do the lift at the same time.
