Tiregate on a 5th Gen T4R

Seeing the few currently available options for the 5th Gen T4R, has anybody here tried out the Tiregate as a way to relocate the spare? If so, what do you think of it? They cost a little more than $600, so it may be a good option for some folks not wanting to spend more than twice that on a new bumper. I'm not a big fan of putting things on the roof, so that option is out. Here is the link:

I understand the want to get easy access to the spare and the product looks nice. I have a flat on average about one (1) time every 4-5 years. I open my liftgate 1,600-2,000 times in that same period.
 
If you decide to go with larger tires like I did (285/70/17) then they don't fit in the underbody location. That is the main reason I NEED to relocate the wheel. Others don't like having the spare where it can be traumatized by the terrain, they have other plans for the underbody space, or they want to carry two spares, or....

I realize I didn't specify that I was talking about the HG series from Tiregate. This version has a swingarm so that it rotates the tire out of the way allowing entrance to the rear. This is essentially what the various replacement rear bumpers do, and it does so at a lower cost. From what I can see, the downside would be the lack of ability to tow at the same time. Since most people are not towing trailers when offroading, this is probably not a huge issue.

Lots of guys are running 285 spares in the factory location.

My 275 fits perfectly, and been tested by a 8000km highway/dirt road trip last summer. I don't think 285 would have any issue.
 
I was told mine wouldn't fit, and being the trusting individual I am, I never bothered to check it out for myself. That is good news. I am glad I posted and got your responses.

You guys that have 285s mounted under your truck should post the type of tire you are running for reference. Not all tires will be the same even at the same size (285/70, etc).

Tiregate Tire Carrier

I've read various threads asking if anyone has or had the carrier. I haven't seen an answer by a carrier present or past owner.
 
Hitch mounted spare carriers obscure your rear vision, blind the rear camera, force you to move the license plate and lighting hardware, and make it a pain in the ass to open the liftgate.

Unless the truck was designed with a bumper or body mounted swingaway carrier, leave well enough alone.
