Tires - Can't decided!

Hm... I might go for a load E finally... It if does not affect the perf and mpg so much, why not just go for it. At least I get a 3 plys, and some peace of mind.
[MENTION=7105]Scramble[/MENTION]: The Cooper AT3s are less of an All Terrain tires than the Toyo, I've done extensive research about them and decided to exclude them from my list.
For the Terra Grapplers, I'm kind of thinking the same... If I go for D load, I might as well get a more aggressive A/T tire, or go to E. The Terra Grapplers seems to be outperformed by the Toyo AT2.
What's your take on them?

C. And I should say that the Duratracs are a great tire. They perform really well in dirt and mud. But they are noticeably worse on wet.

The at2's come in an e load range, I opted not to get them to save my mpg's a little as a drive 400 miles a week. Mine are sl load range and have a 2 or 3 ply sidewall. So I'd suppose the e rated ones would have a tad bit thicker one, but I'm still digging around to find out for you. I'm confused. About a lot of things. But this one is about 265/75 R16 rubbing with no lift. I searched and found threads saying that they will not rub, it's OK. But then other threads say the KO2's will rub, presumably because of the treads. Can anyone help with my confusion?

Actually I have heard really good things about the fun country. I'm not sure why more people don't run them. They have a 3ply sidewall which is a really important feature over the standard 2 ply a lot of tires have.

I heard good stuff too, I think a lack of advertisement / a higher price than competitors explain the fact that people ignore them.

I have been running the KO2's on my 4th gen and really like these tires. I actually like them so much much I just bought a second set to put on my 96. I have Cooper STT Pro's on there now, but I am really tired of listening to those things. The KO2's are a very good tire on road,off road. snow, rain, and the are a great looking tire IMO. That is the only tire I have experience with on your list so I thought I would share my experience.

I just saw that I can basically get the KO2s for a good price, but I'd like to explore other options too. My issue with them is that I'd like a deeper thread / more mud-able tire if I go for a load rate E.

There is one variable that is difficult to assess from vehicle to vehicle, the springs ride height, so that's why some guys with 265/75 R16 have no rubbing with no lift and others do. Then consider the age of the springs can make a big difference - some have given in to gravity more than others.
I think a 99 with tall springs may not rub at all while and 01-02 will rub (on hard turns outer edge of tire barely touches the mudflap's plastic cosmetic cover). Does that help clear things up?

Where in PA will you be moving to?
You could consider Goodyear Authority A/T. It's basically a hybrid A/T/M/T. I liked it so much that I put em on both of my jeeps and almost stuck em on the 4runner. They do excellent in everything especially snow.

I guess I should also mention my buddy and I have the same trip to work on a daily basis, so the MPG being the same isn't because I drive highway/he drives city or whatever. His Duratracs are C- if I remember right. He also runs them at 30-something PSI, while I run my E's at 45PSI. Filled up last night with 14 gallons, and I was at 218 miles to the tank-

if you were going 17inch wheel you could look at the Nitto Ridge Grappler...kinda like their version of the KO2 or Duratracs with a C and E rated version...I like them cause of the agressive sidewall and not so aggressive tread pattern....I should add that I have Trail Grapplers in C rated and theyre not too loud...I honestly wouldn't worry too much about MPG it wont be much of a difference between tires, but noise and comfort will...keep in mind duratracs also have the snowflake rating for snow driving if/when you move to PA

My vote is for BFG KO2, and I'll say it, in E load.
Everybody seems to turn their nose to E loads...but in my experience, with these KO2's in E load, my truck rides like it got a new suspension.
I have E load KO2s on my 4runner, and E load Michelin LTX AT2's on my LX....which is MUCH heavier than the 3rd gen.
KO2's on the 3rd gen ride so much better than the AT2's on the LX.

This is good info for me... I have those Michelins in E rating now and was considering the E rated BFG AT/KO2 as a replacement but thought it might be too stiff (I agree that the Michelin is quite stiff... it does wear like a brick shithouse though, if you'll forgive the expression).
