Actually, I was wondering about this, thanks! This isn't the first time I've blown a tire off-road, I guess I was hoping that a new TE 4runner would come with beefy enough tires, but next time out I'll give this a shot with the new wheels.

Cheapest "worthy" air pump that I'm aware of:

That's an old review and I haven't seen them that cheap lately, but still they are way under $100 at just about any auto parts place you go to. I didn't look, but Amazon probably has some better deals for the same pump....

Kingskot , I am in the same situation with looking for new tires on my 13 TE and although people have flamed you for asking the same question. Everyones situation is a little different and we all want re assurance of what we want to do. Also there might be someone that found something better. I usually try to read the reviews at Tirerack.com or discount tires , ect ......
As far as the topic and search , there is not a question that has been asked/answered a ton of times on here , mine included. It's all cool with me and I think people should be able to ask what they want , when they want. Yes the search bar can be you friend , but you might want more up to date answers or specifics.
No worries about the posting . Hope you picked a good tire , I still have not decided on mine , but Id like to try Cooper AT3's . I have had many sets of BFG , and on my 10 TE I put firestones ATs which worked great in the snow and rain this time I want a C rated tires for my TE so the FS ATs dont offer that so thats why I may go with Cooper AT3's , BFG's , Duratracs .... not sure yet. I'm going with stock size 265/70/17 for sure in a C rated .

FWIW, if you end up looking at BFG ATs, check out General Grabber AT2s. Cheaper than BFGs and better in the snow in my, and many others', opinions. Studable too, if you wanted to do it.
When I swap my tires out, I'm likely to go with Michelin LTX AT2s or Bridgestone Revo2s. Both well-reviewed in snow, relatively quiet and well-mannered on road, and good enough off road for my purposes (which are similar to your description). And Costco carries them, which is another big plus.

Late to the party but here is a review I did awhile back. FWIW I will be buying the Cooper AT3's for my TE next week as I was very satisfied with them on my SR5. AT tires are by definition a "compromise" tire as they are supposed to be adequate with all conditions yet not the best at any one, hence the "All Terrain" name lol. The Coopers performed better than any other AT tire I have run in the past. I now have 20K on my TE and have already had a puncture that I got plugged.
