I think you can do 265/70 or 255/75 without major rubbing.

That depends....are you wanting to run wheel spacers? If so, the 285s will an option as well.

I'm pretty sure 15" wheels won't clear the disc brake calipers. Without some trimming you're not going to get anything bigger than 265/75R16 (265/70R17) or 255/80R16 (255/75R17). They're both about 32" tall.
I think I've read that 275/75R16 (275/70R17) will fit with minor trimming
I'm pretty sure you'd have to do some significant trimming to get 285s (33") on there.

1.5" body lift is the easiest way. That and either spacers or new wheels with about a 2" farther out offset (about the same price as spacers)

Ive got 265-70-17s with NO lift and they fit... I could NOT go ANY bigger though.
I then put spidertrax on and had some pretty serious rubbing... Moved the wheel well liners forward a few inches and did some minor fender trimming with a dremel and now I am good to go.
You should be able to go a bit bigger with the lift... Might need to do the same trimming i did though.

Your sig states you have the V8 with AWD.
It is rather imperative your spare be the same size tire
so what fits in the spare location, or your willingness
to relocate it, becomes a serious factor in tire size.
265/70/17 will fit. Some claim to have fit 275/70/17
but it depends on your tow hitch, type of tire, and perhaps
whether or not you are willing to depend on an
underinflated spare.
Some go with a skinnier, yet same diameter spare.
That prevents you from including your spare into your
tire rotation pattern.
So there is more to consider than just what fits in your wheel
well...

Good Point. The problem is that i do have less options because of my 18" rims that came stock with my runner.

If you find a set of 0 offset wheels you should be able to fit 285/70R16's but you will need take off your front mud flaps and trip the plastic on the inside front portion of your fender liner.
But you may still rub a little on full clock turns and compression.
I put on a set of Coopers STT LT285/70R17 with Raceline Renegade 6 17X9 wheels with 0 offset on my Runner with 2.5 daystar lift.

Im actually looking at the coopers, how do you like them, hows the tread life been on them, id like to get sumthing a little aggressive but i have read so many reviews on the BFG at's where people have 60k mi plus on em
