Hey guys... I know there have been a 1,000 post on here about tires but its a big/costly decision and I could use some advice. Im trying to decide between 3 tires. TA KO's, Duratracs, or Grabber At2's. I have read past threads but need a little more customized help. I have an 02..stock. I live in NH so we get all weather conditions. Snow, rain, sun, all in the same day. Dont know what would be best for wear, traction, and value. I do more on road then off but see both. Whats the biggest size I can fit on my truck or should put on to be happy? Any preference to tire brand and size for an 02?

I would say that for the majority of people all three tires would be fine offroad. My personal opinion is that the Duratracs are the best offroad.
On road it would probably be the Grabbers or the Duratracs. I don't know much about the Grabbers, but I do know that the KO's have been known to have problems in rain.
The Grabbers are the cheapest, while the Duratracs and KOs are about the same.
You should be able to fit a 265/75/16.

Thanks for the quick response clem. I was a little apprehensive to post yet another tire question but...hey...thats what were here for and it seems to be a difficult decision for many. I see moderate/light off roading...nothing to intense but would like to do more. I basically want a tire thats going to tear through snow and get me to work in the early am before the plows are out, get me to remote fishing loacations worry free, and funtion/wear well on my DD to and from work. Any noteable performace decrease by increasing from the 265/70/16 to the 265/75/16? Any concerns with rubbing?

'02's sit a little lower than some other years, but you will probably be fine.
I think any of the three will work for you. If price is a factor go with the Grabbers. Some people like the looks of the KOs more than the Duratracs and visa versa.
As long as your not going to see a lot of mud or hardcore offroading I think the three are very similar.

Thanks for the response Nuke... I have looked at them. My tire guy actually recomended them to me when he found out there was a national back order on the grabber AT2. Is that what you have on your runner? I have the same color 02 and they look pretty good on yours. I was looking for a more agressive looking tire but im open for ideas. Have you run them in snow?
Thanks man...i will add those to the list. Has anyone tried the grabbers, duratracs, or TKo's out on their DD. I was set on the TKos but then i read a lot about how much they suck in rain...they dont seem to have much sipping either so it seems like they might be iffy in rain/slushy snow. Grabbers...just cant seem to find a lot on them for tried and true experience from people with 3rd gen runners. The duratracs look badass but im concernced they might be noisy and wear a little to fast with the highway driving i do to get to work.

The Duratracs are pretty new so people do not have a lot of miles on them.
They are not loud considering how aggressive they are. I drive mine almost daily and they are fine.

hey man, i'm sure you have seen my million post on the grabbers I've got a set and i love them! they look bad A for one and they are amazing in bad weather. they have a bunch of size options too. there is no rubbing on my 01.. well i had some cause my front bumper was a little off from the last person who owned it. but there shouldn't be any on yours. Ive had mine over a year and they still look brand new and perform great in the snow and everything!
Nice thanks man...good to hear the grabbers are so sick. That was my first choice and i was going to get them last week...maybe i will just have to wait for them to catch up with this national back order bit. They have a great warranty too which you dont find on many of the more agressive at's. Thanks for the review. hopefully i can get them...if not i may have to consider other options. My current tires are worn and are not to hot in the snow. I dont know how long i can hold out for...:cheers:

An amazing tire, but a little too agressive for what he's looking for I think.
I have heard alot of wet weather problems with the BFG all terrains.
Nitto and Goodyears are both great tires. Stick with an all-terrain tire. They balance better, they're quieter, and better for a daily driver.
I fit 31x10.5 (same as a 265/75) on my truck with no modifications and no rubbing. And they looked great!

oh yeah the price was perfect too but yeah the only thing that sucks is there is no local shop sells them here. So if something bad was to happen, yeah i'd get it replaced for free but i would have to wait for it to come in. which isn't a big deal i'm just going to have to get a 5th one for the spare someday
