Tires, Tires, Tires...Help Me Decide

Okay, I need to narrow down my tire choices down to 3 by today. I already know what size I want, 285/75/16. I've got two solid choices but need a third. I'm looking for an aggressive looking tire but doesn't have to be a mud tire. I don't see any snow here being in the south, so snow performance doesn't mean a thing. I'm also open to any other suggestions other than the ones I've listed. Thanks everyone!

1st-BFG KM2s-First on my list but also the most expensive.
-Great all around tire, tread wear is great, price is the only negative.
-Expect around 50k

2nd-Goodyear Duratracs-Seems to be the most popular choice on the boards here and I can understand why.
-Aggressive tread pattern, cross between mud and all-terrain tires.
-Aggressive sidewall pattern but possibly weaker sidewall?
-Decent treadwear, I'd expect around 40k
-Price is up there, but not as much as KM2s

This is where I need everyone's help. I've thought seriously about getting the Cooper ST Maxx, everything seems great about them except that they are a very heavy tire. This is really the only thing keeping me from these tires. I love everything else about them.
Falken Wildpeak- Great price, least aggressive looking out of my choices, heard they smell like cow manure? Possible choice just because of the great price.

Basically convince me to buy any of the tires listed above, or any other ones you've had a good experience with. I'm mainly looking for aggressive looks, and good treadwear, 45k-50k.

I've been extremely happy with my Duractracs - no change to road noise, ride, and haven't noticed any impact to mileage either. Plus, they look great and have kicked arse in the snow (but I suspect you're not too concerned with that part).
 
I just got duratracs , almost got mt's but when I saw the dura's in person I bought them . I wheeled with them last week for the first time and they are amazing , so happy I got them .
 
Falken Wildpeaks, or what ever they're called now.

I've got the Rocky Mountains, and they're great.
 
I had the 285/70/17 KM2's load range D on my 5th gen not very noisy on the highway didn't seem to have that much of negitave affect on handling as far as lifted 4Runners go... But they were terrible on packed down snow, and light snow on the roads, Offroad they were great but since you don't drive in snow the KM2's would be my choice.

Duratracs would be a close second though.... but either tire will be good as long as you rotate them every other oil change and keep an eye on your air preasure. Hope this helps

Noisy.... but look good... great traction off-road, and wear fairly well.

I wouldn't go with BFG A/T's... unless you like throwing stones at your rocker panels, and sides of your truck. (I've run them before..... hated them).
 
Third vote for Falkens. Had mine for 8k and they still look brand new. Plus they come with a 50k tread warranty...the others don't. And no, they don't smell like cow sh*t. They're quiet, great in rain and snow, and have been good offroad so far. And the pics online don't do them justice, try look great in person...

I didn't know the Falkens had that sort of rep. I (and apparently a whole lot of other folks I see rolling around), vote Duratracs. Once again, I'd second the snow performance. But Saban keeps it from snowing there -
 
Check out Toyo Open Country AT2... better yet check out the "Extreme" version for deeper tread. I love mine!
 
Thanks for all the replies!! It's good to hear all the positive reviews on the Falkens, I just wish they had a little more aggressive looking tread pattern and I'd be all over them.

KM2s would definitely be my first choice if price wasn't a factor.

I'm still kind of iffy on the Duratracs though because of Goodyears previous problems.

Ahhhh decisions decisions...

These are what I currently have in 265s. They were on when I bought the truck and have been great, I'm just looking to try something different!
 
I hate multi posting but I can't multi quote since I'm on my phone.

I just looked at the toyo at2s and I really like them. I really like the look of the extreme version but they only come in the 295/75/16 size and the 305/70/16.

The 295s are a 33.4" tire with an 11.6" width and weigh 63.7lbs.

The 305s 32.8" with a 12.2" width and weigh 67.9lbs.

Now I know the 305s would rub my UCAs and I'd like to try and avoid wheel spacers. According to the Toyo sight, the 295s are only .3" wider than the 285s and are more than a half inch taller. Hopefully they would clear my UCAs. Also does 63lbs for the 295s sound like too much weight for our rigs? The 285s weigh 53.9 but these are not the extreme version. I also have stock 4.10 gearing.
 
only issue with the km2's is the snow and ice performance. if your driving on any kind of hard pack snow or ice these tires tend to slip more then AT designed tires like the dura's. i currently have the km2's on my crawler and hated him until i got them sipped. also dont let them get over sipped because they tend to chunk really bad when this happens. have them do the middle of the tires only leave the outer lugs alone. this adds to the expense.

on my next rig i will be running the dura's because i find myself doing more road driving and less back woods now. so thats always a consideration.
