tires... Toyo Open Country Mts? Or Goodyear MT/R Kevlar

I have 15K miles on a new set of Goodyear MTR's with Kevlar on my Dodge Power Wagon and I hate them. Stay away from them.

Uneven and quick tread wear, hard to balance, excessively loud compared to other Mud Terrains (they are about as loud as my old Super Swamper LTB's), weak sidewall causing them to flex excessively resulting in a death wobble when they are inflated to less than 50 PSI on my 8,000 lb truck. That about sums it up.

I've had multiple sets of Goodyear's, the latest was the MTR's. Great looking, bad durability, loud and constantly need balancing. Overall, a pain in the arse. I was able to get a whopping 35k miles out of a set on my Rubicon. When they start going, they really start going quick (wear).

Now the new Duratracs look better, if I chose Goodyear it would be those. But I would look into other options. Strangely, the best tires I've had were Dunlop's, Rovers. Didn't look as good but they held up great with minimal need for constant balancing. Verdict is still out on the Coopers I just bought for durability, damn quiet tire though.

I have the Nitto terra grapplers 265/70/17 and the ride is smooth, little road noise, excellent on road tire, I have done some light/medium off roading and havn't gotten stock with the nitto's but I am upgrading to the Wrangler mtr Kevlar 275/70/17. If you do a lot of on road driving go with nitto's but if you do both on/off road maybe more offroad, go with an more aggressive tire. Just decide what you want to do with the tire and make your decision.
