11/09/12 - TB Cleaning Complete
I've also been having issues with my engine mis-firing so I spent some time dismantling the TB / IAC. Took me a few days because I had to keep on going out for tools / parts / cleaning supplies. Glad I have more than one car though or else it'd be such a pain. I had to also replace the IAC screws since in removing them, one started to strip and I started to make them into flat heads. That did not pan out because it still did not work and I ended up getting lucky using a pair of pliers to turn them. I replaced them with some allan head screws + lock washers.
Before
After
My assumption that this has never been cleaned and unfortunate that I have been driving like this for 25k miles since I bought her in 2010. She seems to drive quite a bit smoother now. I also replaced the PCV valve as well. I still need to clean the MAF again and maybe service the injectors. So far so good though. I still don't want to drive her around with the half finished tailgate and all.
