So I just finished my Cobra 75WXST install following Ryan_S's lead and installed a Wilson 1000 in place of the XM shark fin thanks to iDRiVaT4R while also doing the rear storage mod using the brute force method ala phillyd2. In addition I used a BlueSea systems ST blade unit mounted to a "Engineered High Density Polyethylene Material procured from a warehouse supplier" thanks to Antman. Not the first idea I copied/stolen from Antman....
I realized I should thank everyone on this forum for the time they have saved me. I am pretty mechanically inclined and am fortunate to have a number of friends with talent who share the automotive addiction, but this forum has saved me a lot of trial and error.
I saved time pulling my dash apart to install my new headunit thanks to darkdane. I have a sound ordance sub under the passenger seat and I agree with Antman that its not the greatest but with two 70lb dogs owning the back of my 4runner it will do until I have the cash or the time to fab something better. I swapped out the stock upper and lower front grills for grill craft thanks to TOYSTRY and put on a proper emblem. I also on occasion have another phillyd mod in the tissue holder of my center console... I do live in AZ.
I tried Harper's suggestion of pulling the liner forward until the 295s proved that they required more and I had to trim the liner and BFH the frame mount.
I will apologize in advance at the lack of pics at this time. As Brock Everly can confirm it was fairly warm this weekend in AZ. In my opinion working in a non air-conditioned garage staying hydrated and finishing the install was a higher priority then taking pics of things that are already well documented on here.
I know there are others who I should probably thank but the Oscar's music is starting to play and I think my time is up.
On a different note there is a 2012 4runner on Handcrafted Car Audios (local AZ installer but exceptional) site that has to be a member. It is way too nice. Check it out if you have the time.
