they must have updated the design since your purchase. the one i received a few months back has a separate piece that attaches only to that pass thru center arm rest



i think 1 piece would be nice (except for when considering AudiTech's issue with folding the center pass thru thing down) but i have the same one in your bottom pic and it still works great at keeping the carpet clean underneath. with all the windows down and 200lb of dogs in the car the hair is blowing around everywhere regardless of how many pieces they're standing on. but muddy paws and the like are no match for it

I don't think AudiTech has a 1 piece design; the pic of his pass-through looks to me that it is, in fact, a separate piece. Maybe AudiTech can confirm this.

My bet is it came with the truck when he purchased it and he has never removed it to install it properly (maybe he has and I'm about to sound like an idiot.) AudiTech, my pass-through looked exactly like your last posted pic until I installed it with the seats folded down. After doing so, the pass-through works as it should and everything is covered as it should be. However, there is some extra material I need to fold and tuck in when putting the pass-through into it's upright position. I'll take a pic as soon as I can to better show what I mean.

I suppose there's a chance that Canvasback has improved it's design, but I'm still suspicious.

Having had these for several years now.

They have held up great and still cleanup easily!

Only thing i changed is about 6months ago i bought some skateboard grip "tape"..almost like sandpaper. I put 3 strips, left/right. This has greatly helped with loose items not sliding all over when cornering.

Canvasback

I love mine so far. Favorite piece is the bumper cover, which I added on a whim. I hauled lots of sand and gravel bags over the last few weeks, at least 15 trips, bumper cover was great to have and easy to flip up and down. My 4RNR came with the factory cargo tray, which I lay on top of the canvasback, to have a little extra protection and a lip to hold some things in place. I got all the cut outs, I do like having access to tie downs but it does create a space for crud to fall down into; same for having seat backs cut separate so they can all be moved individually. I liked the idea of the individual seat cut outs but I really don't use them, I leave mine down 99% of the time. Doing it again, I'd probably just get them as one piece to eliminate anyplace for dirt to get into. I do think it could be a tad slick for dogs, though admittedly, have not had them in the back on just the canvasback yet. Sorry for sideways phone pic.

It is a must if you actually use the back for transporting anything. Fitment is so good I forgot they are even on there by now.

Has anybody bought the Canvasback covers for the sides and rear of the cargo area? I am thinking about it since I carry around a lot of gear that rubs up against the back door and the sides and tends to make a mess of the plastic.

This was the 1st thing I ordered after bringing my truck home. Just got the shipping notice today. (Two week production time, to the day) only thing that concerns me is the exposed top parts of the seats, but I use a shipping blanket for the pups as added comfort/ protection anyway. I went with the whole set door panals, rear hatch panels and all. Will post picks when I get it all installed.

Got mine today, tracking said it would be here monday. I would have had it installed with pics if I had some alcohol... Rubbing type in the house and had the old lady told me it was sitting on the porch before 2000. It comes shipped in a small box with 13 or so pieces. Instructions are minimal, but it's mostly self explanatory. Couple of things I dislike: there is little or no protection from spills or let's say accidents of the puppy kind. In their attempt to make the seats function with the liner in place means every seam and hinge is open and exposed. The thing I dislike most is the side, door and hatch back panels. They secure with adhesive to the interior plastic. Not what I was expecting but it is what it is. After just spending two hours detailing the interior of my 200 mile old station wagon (Dealer detailed my arse!) Nothing is going to stick to the side walls no matter how many alcohol wipes i steal from the first aid kits. Will complete the install and post pics tomorrow.

Just got my 4Runner last week and have been looking everywhere for a good solution to keep my cargo area clean with my dog in the back. Just purchased and thanks to everyone for the pictures, super helpful!

Got it installed, just need to get the pictures uploaded. For the price I'm not impressed. Major complaint is the fit of the side panels, the ones in the cargo area are not form fitting and there is a huge gap left exposed where the backing the rear seats sit. What ever Toyota made the fake leather out of, will not allow adhesive to stick to it. My advice would be to save the money and not get the sides. Just my .02

With the supplied velcro tape. It sticks fine to the plastic, but not the fake leather on the doors. After getting more velcro, I ran it long and up the window frame about a inch. At least it's secured by the two ends, but doubt it will stay up long.

I got the side pieces. They were the hardest to install, as they attach directly to the plastic and not to carpet, and are sort of "baggy" looking (will take a pic if you want to see it installed)
