To replace C.V. axles or just reband?

In the coming weeks I'll be replacing my wheel bearings/hubs with new ones on both fronts due to my passenger side going out.

My question is since I'll be down there and pulling the hubs off, should I replace my cv axles with new ones while I'm at it? My 4runner has 165K miles on it and my cv axles are fine and they have no symptoms of messing up, they just have some grease leaking from the inner bands ever since I put my lift on, but no tears in the boot.

So should I re-clamp with new clamps or get a fresh set of remaned cv's and replace them while I'm doing the wheel bearing? Thanks.

Re booting is pretty easy if you have some basic mechanical skills. If you dont re boot then just wait for them to fail and replace the entire CV

I would wait if the boots are in good shape. Getting access to the cv for removal is only a 20 minute job if/when they crack.

Replace it now and never deal with it for another long time.

Either reboot it or just reclamp it, either way there's no real reason to replace the CV Axles for just a bit of seepage.

^ BWInc what I did on son's 05 lucky in the desert soon as lifted boots split & bought boot & kit with packing , haven't looked back !
