To The people with short shifters!

Hi t4r! Im looking to buy this URD short shift kit for my 97 4wd 4cyl 4runner 5spd and was wondering does this kit raise your shift knob up ^ by however thick the aluminum piece is or does it keep the knob the same height to the floor, as stock? (would I have to shorten the handle to keep it stock height?)
I hope I made sense in explaining that!

I've got one installed and if it changes the height it is not noticeable enough to be an issue. We've got three people who drive it and nobody has complained or noticed anything feeling strange about it. The short shifting though is very nice and definitely makes for a sportier feel than the original truck-like shift pattern. Much better. The install wasn't bad either.

ok! thanks! so you would say about 1/8"-1/4" higher maybe?

I believe the height difference would be 1/2" based on the thickness of the plate that is part of the kit. It's been a year or more since install so I don't know for certain. Maybe give URD a call on that to be sure.

I would say it raises the shift knob up around 1/2". To me it felt like a little more but i also have a body lift to it was a nice way to get my shifter up a little higher. Love my short throw, id reccomend it to everyone

yeah I had the URD short shifter on my tacoma... it raises it a little but even if that was a turn off for you, its way way worth it.
