What about 18's with

Same question I thought I could without any problems!
I tried to get 285/65/18 on Procomp 18's with a 9" wide rim and 4.5" backspace installed at 4WheelParts in Van Nuys, CA today and they told me there was no way they would fit! These are 32" tires. They had already taken the truck off the lift and I had to take their word for it but I'm thinking of trying to leave with the one they mounted tomorrow, put it on and look for myself! They insisted it wouldn't work without cutting the frame or changing the body? I have the Revtek 3" lift but didn't have the spacer's on yet because didn't know if I'd need them- theres an offset on the tire and the Upper Control arm and calipers cleared fine. What is up?? Said even if I remove the inner front fender lining theres not enough room?! What kind of other mod's have anyone done running Nitto Terra Grapplers in this size because I know some of you have? Thanks for any help.

I am running 285-70-17 with spidertrax spacers 1.25in on factory wheels with ome lift and 1/2 in body lift. I have no issues at all even at full lock.

I wanted to replace the tires and rims anyway since only 16" came on the truck (I bought it used) I like the look of the largest rims available even realizing there arnt too many options of tires for that rim size but enough for me (Nitto/BFG/Cooper) How much trimming did you do and do you have pics of the fenders/firewall/ etc. Thanks

Damn! That is one mean looking 4R!! Looks awesome!! ARB front? I guess by removing the front bumper for a steel aftermarket you wouldn't need to trim the lower corner- and besides that you just took off the mudflaps huh? By the way ...what kind of rear tire carrier is that ?

Oh yea sorry I did remove the front mud flaps and trimmed the rear. The tire carrier is mine I built it to do what I needed it to do. Here are a couple pic of the carrier. If you can weld I will send you the steel to make your own. I just dont have the time for atleast 3 months to make any more.

I am also running 285/70/17s but with the stock bumper. I had to do a little trimming off the bumper. Basically I took off the "curl under" that the bumper does where it attaches to the wheel-well liner. I also tore out the liner and trimmed it down to just the bare essentials. I left enough of it on the driver side to keep from flinging mud into the back of my fog and turn signal lights. On the passenger side I left enough to protect the lights, washer fluid reservoir and to protect the opening to the airbox.

It also holds a high lift.
Yeah! it's nice. I weld and was recently planning some over bumpers/brush guards and started thinking about maybe getting a full size spare on a carrier. would love to see more photos of yours- clean simple design- looks very efficient- I like it!!

I was wondering about all that -underside protection/ rear of fogs/ airbox mouth area...and never heard it mentioned. I'll keep that in mind and see what I can come up with. Thanks
