Took the 4runner off road today for the first time...

Had a really, really, really fun time. It did better than one of the jeeps that went with us. I only got stuck once.

My truck is pretty much stock, minus a few minor things. I was extremely impressed with how well it did off road. It was about an hour and 15min drive, and it was nice to go down there and have a ton of fun, drive it back with the a/c on, and use just over a half tank of gas. the only thing I did for this trip was disconnect the swaybar links.

Congrats.... That type of experience is where many of us start out before we start modding. A fun little trip with some jeeps where you are surprised at how well it the 4Runner could do with just a stock setup and then wondering how far you can push it if you just spent a little bit of money to get XXXX and it doesn't end.

That's exactly what I did my first time. Running stock kept up with my buddy's far-from-stock Jeep. Now it's a few grand later and I'm still doin it. It never ends. ^^

I must say that it gets addicting, now I am constantly looking for roads or trails to go down in the 4runner.

Haha, I didn't do that on purpose, I was riding the outer edge of the trail line to keep the branches and stuff from scratching the side of my truck. The ground gave way and I sunk right into the ditch. From inside the truck, I seriously thought it was going on it's side. Other than a dirty pair of undies, there was no other damage.

Yep. I got the rims and tires (American Racing teflon mojave's) on craigslist for $400.
