:iagree: The S2 is a great Radar detector with a very small amount of false alarms. After having owned several other I was surprised how well this battery operated unit works. With the cordless capability its just hooked to my passenger sun visor where it works great and is out of the way.

How did you get yours to hook onto the passenger visor? My visors are too thick and the clip wouldn't fit. I have no choice but to suction it onto the windshield. Did you mod anything to make it fit?

Sorry guys bout' the thread jack, but i personally think that the k40 is a better radar detector. IMHO

I can't give a fair opinion because I have never used the K40. The only other radars I have used was Bel and Sensoro. I would take the Solo S2 over those two any day!

I forget about that. It came from my previous Highlander and it had the same problem. I made my own clip out of some metal stock (black) and it fit the 4runner visor just like the Highlander.

I was waiting for the limiter to shut it down when I had to let up on the gas. I think just as I let up I hit governor. I will do some more testing ASAP.

I have the passport 8500 X50....i have a friend that has a Valentine 1. neither of us have got tickets...and mine was $100 cheaper! I have seen them both false alert and they both pick up cops well in advance assuming they are not using the POP radar (which is will detect, just not always as well). As for laser, dont even bother. Once the radar detector goes off 95% of the time its to late and they alerady have your speed right in front of them. As for the K40, im sure its great but it i cant see it being any better than the other two. Passport and valentine are known for their radars...ask anyone who knows about this and you will see. As for their guaranteed no tickets...read the fine print and its really not htat impressive lol. In my opinion, i would get the passport....look on ebay and you can find them for a around $270ish new. hope this helps ......

I think I hit that too. I surprised that the speedo in the 4runner goes to 110 but taco's and fjs go to 120. however the needle goes past the 110 mark. I think the A-series gearing can go to around 140 tops. A taco on the APR dyno was going that fast. and the good news is that piggyback defects the speed limiter.
