So ur rig has an odbII port? If so i would think it would work to the extent of the programming provided with the ECU attached to the that high pressure self exploder, love diesels. What ya got to loose a few bucks, you'll blow that on some beer or Willy wachy!

Hi, I wanna use a toque app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque) and need something like this Amazon.com: Vgate ELM327 Bluetooth Scan Tool OBD2 OBDII Scanner for TORQUE APP ANDROID: Automotive , ok all good but I have not seen videos working on diesel car, my car have a 1kzt diesel engine, will it work? Thanks

According to their web-site, Torque has supported Diesel engines since 2011. Probably not much experience with 4Runner diesels as they were never available in the U.S. You definitely need the OBDII port, and if you have that, Torque should process and display anything you want that is passed to the OBDII port (same answer as above, just in my words). I took a quick look, and there are lots of people using Torque on Diesels that ARE available in the US.

I would post any questions on the Torque forums. The owner is very active and is constantly making revisions to the app to deal with user's requests.
