Torque App Trans Temp Method 1 or 2?

I just bought the Torque Pro app and I'm waiting on my reader to arrive. I'm going to be towing a 3050 Lb. dry camper with our 07 V8 and I'd like to keep an eye on transmission temp.

Does anyone know what the difference is between method 1 and method 2? Those are the two options given in the app.
