torque converter?

hey guys...

with my dreaded po770.. I took a gamble of switching out the lock out solenoid and hope that would fix it.. but instead.. it didn't..

so I ruled out the solenoid and that left me with the torque converter..

the torque converter is $200 sub for a new one or a new tranny that's $2k or less..

my problem is.. whenever i go over 55 mph, the CEL pops on.. the thing won't go into 4th and thus the revs are a lot higher than normal.

what should I do? new tranny? or should I change out the torque converter?

Did you ever have any luck with this?

I'm in the group of PO770 = new (rebuilt) tranny. Solenoids aren't gonna do it, only postpone the inevitable. Chances are the torque converter isn't the only thing roached in there.

I've got a PO770 about a month AFTER i just had the trans rebuilt and TC replaced. :smash:

Sprag assembly gave out on mine. Eventually I burned the clutches up compensating for it. Cost me $1500 for a complete rebuild. That price was a steal!
