This info should be all over this forum so searching might net you the answer.

That being said I believe TQ app will read auto trans temp for the 99+ models but a person with a 99 might need to chime in as im not positive.

I think it will depend on the ODBII connection you use. I have the Torque Pro app and cannot see the trans temp on my 2001 4R.

There is more than 1 trans temp reading on torque, try the other in the setup process. I have a cheapo 'EM327' connector on my '01' and it picks it up. Luck.

Success!

thank you guys!

Attached is a picture of my OBDll reader which I bought from Amazon for $30.

As mentioned by jgue467 Torque pro has two displays for tranny temp readout. Only one display will show the tranny temp. I think it's labeled "method 2."

I picked up one of these the other day and was trying to get it to read transmission temp. I will try the method 2. Whatever method I was using, it wasn't working. But I was driving and didn't feel like messing with it.

It works on my 99 sr5 but.. I added all of the trans temps available plus coolant temps to one of the available screens.
One of the trans temp reads the same as my coolant temps so be careful.

I'm totally lost. I just bought Torque Pro and I'm trying to get access to viewing Transmission Temp. How do I find this "Method 2" people are talking about?

Never mind, I finally figured it out. I'm sometimes technomologically challenged at times.
