toyo open country A/T?

anyone runing these on their runners? i'm looking for 31"s on a stock 97. anyone have pictures? or input on these tires?

I'm running it on my runner, Is pretty quite and the tread design is not bad either. My size is 265/70/R16.

Went out mudding with it one time and it did quite well. On the highway is pretty good.

Is 1:00 am right now, and is kinda of dark outside lol but When I get back from work tomorrow... I will take some pictures of it and post it. Any angles you wanted?

Are the tires mainly going to be off roading or will there be high way driving too?

I run them and like them, I will get another set. I feel they are a better rain tire than a snow tire, which could be an issue up north.

no specific angles, just wanted to see how they look on a 4rnr. shouldn't be a problem in snow, i drove on bald tires this past season and they were ok, because of the 4x4

Also price the Nitto TGs since they are very close cousins to each other. The Nittos do quite well in the snow also.

i'm going to a few tire shops right now to check prices on some all terrain tires
what size is good for stock 15 rims on my 97? i pretty much just know i can fit 31's without lifting it, but no other info

I am running a 285/50/20 Toyo Open Country AT on my '02 & '99. Great traction in the deep snow, and sand... I don't do mud so can't help ya there. All that with a 50k warranty not to bad. The only other tire I would do instead of the Toyo's would be BFG All Terrains.

Whoever said that is a idiot. The BFG AT is one of the best if not the best All Terrain tire on the market.

I run the Toyos and do some moderate off roading. I also have friends who run the BFG AT's. I think mine are quieter, and they were substantially cheaper! However, the BFGs have the "look" and name brand that other wheelers recognize, so if you're more looking to impress (which isn't a bad thing to clarify, we all are...or at least I am), then the BFGs are the way to go. If you want to a save a few bucks, with no down side other than name, then I think the Toyos are great.

As somebody who spent a lot of the '90s driving a couple of Toyota trucks shod with BFGs and then spending the last 4 on Nittos,the TGs are much better for a DD and their wet/winter weather manners can't be matched by the BFGs (from my experience) and the Nittos are considerably cheaper and have a 50k mileage warranty.

Off road it's a wash but when it comes down to it the BFGs might have the edge in sidewall strength but as an overall A/T tire that will see mostly pavement with solid on and off road performance the Nittos will continue to be the tire I put on my truck.

BFGs do continue to have the best white lettered sidewalls in the business.

money is also an issue for me, since i'm still paying off the suv. so i'll probably be looking around for toyo AT, maybe even MT if they aren't much more money.

I had the Toyo Open Countries A/T on my 97 Tacoma and it looked nice. It offroaded really nice. When I bought my 02 4Runner I bought the Terra Grapplers, which are super nice. If you look on consumer reports the Toyo is rated #4 but the Terra Grapplers is rated to be the #1 A/T tire avaliable today. Best in Mud, Snow, Rain, to just about anything.

Yes it's 33" Toyo M/T and suspension lift is OME 3.25".....check my signature profile.

i'm really new to all this offroading stuff, i'm a vdub guy, so i'm just learning here. all that stuff in your sig sounds like jibb to me lol

Over 3" on a 3rd gen will compromise the CV joints so be careful.
