I'm not going to pretend like I know all of the differences, or even all of the differences within my own guide of all of the 5th gen 4Runners.
However, I do know of two.
The first is the addition of the emission control valves that sit on top of the engine block that were introduced in 2013.
The second is all of the driveline changes that I compiled into a spreadsheet and saved as an image near the bottom of both of my posts.
Basically, with the exception of the addition of the emission control valves, I THINK this guide will work for all 5th gen 4Runners. Now, the reason I don't directly come out and say that in any of my posts is because I don't want someone with a 5th gen from a different year to find out the hard way that I made a wrong assumption. And as a result, they accidently ruined a part of their 4Runner from directly following my guide.
To find out (for sure) that every single part number and torque specification is the same for every single nut and bolt in all 12 years of the 5th gen 4Runner would cost even more money and a significant amount of additional hours to confirm.
Sorry for the long winded answer. Chances are, this guide will serve any 5th gen 4Runner owner just fine. But worst case scenario, this guide can still be used as a starting point to at least know what to research and look for.
