What probems are you having with your Legacy GT? This is one of the models we are considering for my wife.
I hope GM's stake in them hasn't damaged Subaru quaility yet! So far they haven't brought them into the fold as they have done with Saab. Actually FWIW - Consumer Reports has Subaru quality up there pretty high as of late.

Most of the complaints from nasioc.com (impreza site) and legacygt.com (legacy and outback) revolve around thin and poor paint and minor rattles. I had a 2002 WRX and I had no problems until 6000 miles then everything starting rattling, and mine was completely stock. The other big complaint a lot of people have, inculding myself, is the poor dealership experience. Some are very good, but many are also very bad. This is true for many brands but when you only sell 180k cars a year, word spreads quickly.

Subaru quality is OK. My 2000 Impreza RS has been reliable but has had a few problems.
1. The clutch used to shudder on engagement at times. Very annoying. Even though there was a TSB for this very reason, Subaru was doing everything possible weasel out of a warranty repair because I was near the end of my 3 year / 36,0000 period. After two weeks of phone calls I was able to get the clutch fixed under warranty. What a pain...
2. The rear wheel bearings are making noises (at 53,000 miles) and I'm planning to replace them in the next week or two.
3. The paint is quite thin.
4. Sometimes the rear windows make a horrible squealing sound when fully opened.

My car is one the first 05MY redesign, the newer builds are "slightly" better. It can't be worse, I hope! My problems seem very consistant with the Subaru forums.
1. My biggest complaint would be the rattles in the dash/doors. Also the silver painted interior trim is very poor quality.
2. I only have 16k miles on the car and I've replaced, or the dealer has replaced, 4 headlights!!!.
3. The dealers are terrible, service departments are hit or miss.
4. The turbo is nice, but it takes premium, and doesn't get the best mileage. Turbo lag is also present, and my car is a 5spd.
5. The paint is very soft and scrathes easy, and the metal is very thin. I "gently" bumped the door closed with my knee and it dented.
There are so many minor complaints I can't list them all. I would check legacygt.com and do your research. This is my second Subaru, the first one was flawless. Sticker price on my car was 32k, never again.
