Toyota is dorky?

I just heard the other day someone say that they think Toyota's are "dorky" cars. What are your thoughts?

I personally don't thinks so, I think maybe a subaru or saturn is..

Define "dorky"

I admit some models of manufacturers might look dorky but to say a whole brand is dorky is.....well,dorky.
 
That's what all my friends say about my runner although i don't think they use.. Dorky. They think because it cant do 0 to 60 in 4.56 seconds its not cool. < and yes i just made that number up. They just don't understand the significance of the toyota brand and especially the 4Runner's :bigok:



Oh and heres the definition for Dorky.

Any vehicle that has the functionality and features of the 4Runner and can legitimately go 250K+ miles with mostly just routine maintenance is anything but "dorky"!

Take your runner off-road and grab some pictures. Then ask them to do the same with their non-dorky "cars." Betcha they don't have the ground clearance! And oh will they worry about rock chips in their paint. Watch 'em whine! See how dorky your runner is now!

Now if they are calling Toyota dorky and some other truck non-dorky, well then that is a battle no side will ever win. There are a few things you never discuss; religion, politics and who makes a better truck. I guess there is one part of politics that is ok to discuss though...who to vote for for president. Free gas right?! Go ...Falls/Uneek! I wonder what you two would do if there ended up enough write in votes!

I guess some of Toyotas cars might be branded with a particular type of person, but that is natural for any car really.

Civics are often linked with Hispanics.
Jettas are often linked with young females.
 
i'm going to have to agree w/ the dorky comment.... the current toyota line up is rather "dorky." I love my four current toyotas, but the newest one is at least 6 years old now. Toyota has been cool, and maybe will be again, but the lack of any true exciting vehicles on dealer lots at this point and time kills it for me. Now if they would put the tacoma front body (firewall forward) on the 4th gen 4runner, i might change my mind.
 
The '08 Camry looks like a refrigerator that fell over, so they put wheels on it. Tanky-looking, trying to resemble a Chrysler lemon.

Thanks for the info guys haha. Nah I think they look really cool, however I'm not a big fan of the 4th gen- I think they look too "parent" at times..

Me too, but I like the interior of the 4th gen better. I also like the bigger size of the 4th gen. For example, the wider console.

and what are this people rollin that is so undorky? 3/4 ton gas or deisel gusslin trucks?

I don't know what's dorky about a suv that seats five, capible off roader, and gets decent gas mil. not to mention decent power.
or the fact that you might get some resale value if you do decide to sell.

well I guess I'm a proud owner of a toyota 4 dorker
