Toyota part: 2016 stock USB sockets

I have a 2015 Trail edition which comes with 12 cig-lighter style power sockets in the rear of the console and inside the console.
I noticed that in the 2016, there is an option for the port on the rear of the console to be a dual-USB port. I would prefer this to the power port.
I would think that once you obtain the oem Toyota USB port for this location, it should be a direct swap.
Has anyone tried this? or has anyone removed the power port or USB port to see how it's connected?

I do use those but they stick out and get kicked. I'd like something more permanent and clean
