Materials: (Purchased at Advance Autoparts)
Duplicolor Wheel Paint (Rim)- Color of your choice (One can worked fine for me)
Duplicolor Truck&SUV Paint (Center Caps)- (Small can worked fine)
Duplicolor Wheel Paint- ClearCoat (Again, one can was fine)
Nailpolish- Color of your choice (for Toyota Emblem on centers)
Sanding Blocks- Medium & Fine
Paint Thinner- (For cleaning the wheels)
Newspaper (Optional)
Old towels, water hose, food, couple of girls etc.
Process: (Take your time, half-a$$ it and you'll end up with a half-a$$ed paint job)
1. Remove the tire/rim from the vehicle.
2. Take the centers and sand them with the Fine block. Clean them with Paint Thinner.
3. Paint them with the base color with light, even coats.
4. Let Dry... duh...
5. When dried, use the Nailpolish to detail the centers however you like.
6. Let dry, again...
7. Now on to the Rim, take the Medium block and sand the rim-- Don't go for smooth, just lightly sand the whole surface. Rinse the dust off the rim. Clean these with paint thinner also.
8. Optional: I started out covering the tire with newspaper, took a while and I finally got tired of fooling with it so I just folded a piece up about 6 inches long and used it as a shield near the edges of the rim, however overspray will come off with paint thinner and elbow grease...
9. Paint. Light even coats. Let dry and do a second. Be sure to hit all the nooks and crannies.
10. DRY...
11. Clear Coat. Same procedure as above, be sure to clear coat the centers too!
12. Dry Again...
13. Re-mount the tire...
14. Admire
15. Next!
