Toyota PPF any good?

My TRD PRO is due in port on 10/6. Getting is for MSRP but there are some port options the dealer won't let me remove. One is the PPF on hood, fenders and mirror caps. Does anyone have this option? Do you find the quality of the install and quality of the film any good?

Toyota uses 3M PPF which is very good. Port installed quality should be OK.

But Toyota offers two PPF options, the one you have, and one for the front bumper cover which is more important than the hood/fenders/mirror option. Thus, when you get your 4Runner, you should have your dealer install PPF on the front bumper cover. Most dealers also use 3M PPF, but not the factory OEM one. Dealer installed PPF is usually less expensive than the "factory" PPF. Installation quality at the dealer depends on the experience of the person doing the installation.

PPF installation on the 4Runner front bumper cover is one of the more difficult installations due to the sharply rounded corners, thus should only be done by very experience installers. Mine ended up with some minor lifting on those edges. I would suggest you do a careful visual inspection of your installation before acceptance to be sure there is no lifting or bubbles in the PPF. If there is any of those, have them do it over.

Product is good but coverage is not. Most Film Shops will cover entire bumper and entire hood without seams and better protection.

PPF on my 21 TRD Off Road is good, the PPF under the door handles were installed a little crooked only noticed it after i did ceramic coating.
all other spots were fine hood mirrors and rocker panel ends.

mine came with that factory. nearly 160k miles and 10 years later it still looks amazing. no peeling, no yellowing, excellent option IMO

When I got mine back in April of this year dealer also had PPF installed. Bumper , hood, side mirror, and partial fender was installed. Wasn't a fan of the partial fender as you can see the line where it cuts off. I also bought extra PPF for the roof line (between the front window and sunroof) and the A pillar. The dealer stated that if at any point it gets damaged or starts peeling, I can take it in and they'll replace it.

Not sure if it was mentioned but it also comes with little PPF sections that are under each door handle. These are excellent to protect from people with rings that scratch the heck out of the paint.
