Got it working on Virtual Machine Windows XP within Windows7. Customizing done. All is well now.

I have windows 7. Downloaded version 9.10.037. Editing the TIS to 0. When I launch the program it asks me for registration information... Did I miss something?

Which line did you change value to 0? You might have trouble getting cable driver for Win 7. It should not ask you for registration if you edit correct line.

Now, here is a hundred dollar question. Can the Open Door buzer be DISABLED via customizing in Techstream?

Ok. that's what i'll do. Thanks for the link. 2 questions. Can this be used as a diagnostic for in use driving, kind of like an OBD-2 or scanguage?

The cable can be purchased on Amazon correct?

I haven't played with it much yet. So far just changed customizable options. But it does have diagnostics and error codes. Once you D/L it you'll see. Cable is on amazon, this one I have:

I'm having issues getting the program to register. I tried several versions but it only allows a trial mode. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 9.....026 and edited the ini file, no luck. Any suggestions?

Let me see if I can post a legible synopsis of my experience with trying to get the TIS Techstream program to work. I'm using a MacBookPro with Mavericks v.10.9.4 and Parallels running Windows 7 32-bit.

I started off, thanks to other posts on this forum, with the cable and accompanying mini-DVD from Amazon.

Unfortunately, I don't have a DVD player handy to either play or rip the mini-DVD that came with the cable. However, through many days of searching, and trial and error, I was able to download the latest software from this ft86club forum:

The primary issue I was having was after getting the program to open and past the registration screen, I could not get the program to connect to the mini-VCI cable. I tried several different versions and also installing on an old Netbook running Windows XP with the same errors.

Finally, I came across this guys upload site that had the driver I figured I was needing.

I followed his super easy instructions from the pdf file and started off using his latest version of the software listed, V7.10.30. Success! No connection errors :guitar2: BUT, it would only allow me to select a 2013 year model :smash:. My SR5 is a 2014. Nevertheless, now that I had the missing driver, I uninstalled the .30 version. . .

THEN I went back to the "onedrive" site and followed the instructions again verbatim, except running the .exe file for software V9.10.37 I had previously downloaded from the ft86club forum.

The "TISKEY" program will take care of the registration headache and the MVCI driver will take care of the issue connecting to the cable. Too easy!

Now, finally, after about a week of headaches, I can turn off the damn seatbelt chime. :whoo:

Do not run Techstream until you D/L driver and edit read file. Also make sure cable USB is recognised.

Thanks, now that we are beyond that point do you have any fixes?

I had the cable working once before but was never able to get the program to register.

Post up if you get that data list to work. I've tried 3 different computers and several versions of Techstream, but always get a "Fatal Error" when I try to do the data list on the ECU

Tried <<<<'s V9.00.026 again today. Same result.

Can anybody post up a screenshot of the "data list" for the ECU? Everything else works but that one.

I get the same error. I used it on an early 2000s Celica and was able to get the datalist. No dice on the 4R.

Dot Calm mentioned everything worked in his 4Runner, wondering what setup he is running.

Nobody else has claimed to be able to show the data list for the ECU.

MVCI Driver Software

Just received a "Mini-VCI J2534" USB to OBDII connector. I installed the TIS ver 9.0.026 on a WIN 7 Pro 32bit box, made the edits to the .ini file and all looks well.

The Cd that came with the interface includes the MVCI driver, and a couple of prior versions of TIS. However, I scanned all files prior to installation and the driver appears to have a Trojan Horse Generic xxxx. in the ,msi file.

So I tried the driver from a link in this thread. It scanned ok, but AVG kicked in during installation. I've read that you must disable anti-virus when using TIS. Is this correct? Does the driver in fact trigger a false positive. Or have I just not found a clean driver? The one I did get installed was flagged for a trojan horse in a .dll file and another one, which I don't remember.

Want to make sure that I have a clean file before I hose up a decent laptop.

You definately get what you pay for with this cable. At first I only got error messages when trying to pull up the data list on the ECU. Then I ran a cable check. Not sure if it was the cable check or cycling the ignition, but after that, I was able to pull up the data list. It still randomly disconnects every few minutes, but hitting retry works and it starts updating again.

There are some other features that don't work, any flashing procedures, most of the remote start system, and some others I can't think of, also are a no go.
