TOYOTEC vs. ICON

Here's an interesting option for you as well. Camburg offers a tubular arm with more caster that uses an OEM Toyota balljoint. It's $399.

I'm getting these after the first of the year. I'm adding Moog BJs, may attempt to press in/my OEM joints and return the moogs.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned the Overland Warehouse Radflo kit? Doubtful you'll find someone that doesn't like it. Ill be moving to this setup as wheelin' becomes a bigger part of of my weekends.

I would not recommend the Radflo 2.0 kit. I personally run this and have been totally disappointed with both the system performance, durability, and customer service.

If I was to do it over again, I keep it simple and do the Toytec Ultimate or even a Bilsten 5100 lift.

I think these 'high end' coilover systems are highly overrated to be honest.

I'll give my two thumbs up for the Overland Warehouse/Radflo 2.5 kit. Not a single complaint. Customer service is top notch too. No problems with my Light Racing UCAs. Like Harper7 said they arent the stock ball joints. Nice thing about the Light Racing UCAs is you can also adjust the camber with them, instead of just using the lower control arm mounts.

Again, my experience with the 2.0 kit as been totally opposite of this. The coilovers are loud, clanky, squeeky. The rear shocks wouldn't even install correctly without blowing the nitro charge. Customer serviced sucked ass until I begged and pleaded. The way the coilovers are designed cause excessive movmement on small bumps, causing so much clunking its terrible.

I have no experience with Radflo's customer service but I ran the OW 2.0 kit for a couple years with no issues at all through lots of hard off road use. I see from your sig that you're running skid plates though. When I bought the 2.0 kit I was specifically told by OW that it was not made to carry a lot of extra weight. When I added my BudBuilt skids I lost some height in the front so I really had to crank the coilovers which in turn resulted in a rougher ride because I was pushing the boundaries of what the 2.0 kit could handle in terms of weight. Knowing that adding a bumper and winch would be way too much I upgraded to a 2.5" shock with stiffer springs than the 2.0 kit. My buddy is currently running my old rear shocks on his 4th gen with no issues at all.

It's interesting that you went with the 2.0 setup. At the time did you talk to the OW guys before you bought? I went with the 2.5 setup and it has been great, no issues. I talked to the OW guys before I bought and they "recommended" going with this setup vs. the 2.0.

What issues are you having with Radflo (customer service, etc...?). Just curious in case I need to deal with them.

1. I ran the 2.0 kit without skids for 6 months, still exhibited the clunky sounds at stock weight. 2. For a $1,400 suspension system, you better believe it should be capable of carrying an additional 120lbs of weight from skids. I think it's just the overall design that causes the issues - several of people on here exhibited the same ride qualities.

I was told the 2.5 system would be very stiff if you didn't plan on a front bumper, or plan on carrying extra weight in the vehicle.

I won't get into the long story about the customer service, but basically I had two sets of rear radflo shocks that both failed to install properly, etc etc etc and they claimed it was user error and not a product defect.

I ran the 2.5 kit from the start with the heavier spring. I actually loved the ride and that was before I had ANY additional weight. Now the ride is super plush but still does really well off road. I am looking to get some new rear springs, possibly the ICONs.

As for customer service of Radflo, I have only positive things to say. I contacted their live support regarding rebuilding my shocks and adding the compression adjustable reservoirs. I was provided with great information and they were also quick to respond back to my emails. Now I just need to send them in to get done.

That's awesome. The only reason I want to share my experience, is because while people do their homework on here about suspensions, often time all you hear is the praise of how rad everything is. When in reality, it seems like some people have luck getting what they expect, and others run into issues.

Sounds like the 2.5 kit might be the way to go.
