Toytec boss kit whoops

So I installed my boss coil over kit this past weekend and it came out way taller than I wanted. Being I am going to do more overland and camping I want to get in and out of the vehicle easily (along with my fiancee who is much short than me.) I had gotten the super flex coils cause I have a rear bumper and am adding a swing out and a sleeping platform later so I figured with the weight it would sag enough but I don't think it is going to come down a couple inches, my bad for ordering wrong. So my question is should I get the standard 3" coils and hope the sag to a 2" or get 908 2" coils? I talked to toytec and they said the ome are slightly stiffer so that seems nice as fast as handling is concerned. I am running 267/75/16 and don't want to go bigger also for the sake of getting in and out of the car while camping. I'm wondering how much will the rear squat with a constant load of let's say 200-250lbs with bumper, swing out, and storage platform. And I don't want it to look goofy with my tire size. Attached is the image of how it was sitting. Too much lift for my needs. I am thinking a 1-2" or 1.5-2.25 lift will be enough. Not to high that it's hard to get in the back but just enough to look a bit different and give just a bit more height and flex for off-roading. Also I am concerned about highway stability and comfort while driving on just bumpy roads.

It's a coilover. Just adjust the height to where you want it :)

*Edit: I guess I should have added... get the shorter 2" lift in the rear and adjust the front down to match it.

Yes I know I can adjust the front , that's why I got it. I am asking opinions on the rear coils, a slightly softer 3" or a slightly firmer 2" because I am not sure how much it is going to sag and settle.

They should settle a little. Toytec sells super flex coils rated at 3". They are soft. You want some raked trust me. Especially if you load up on the back. You don't want exploring with saggy ass

They are 3.75". They did get close to level at the current weight that I have but it is just way taller than I expected. As in it is hard for me 6'1" to step onto the rear bumper and sliders. I want it at least a couple inches lower for my fiancee sake and the not looking weird with those tires. I know what you are saying about the rake though. That makes sense. I am thinking I'll get the 2" OME coils and set the front to be a half inch lower. Once all said and done I shouldn't have too much height.

With the amount of weight you plan on adding to the back, I would not change the springs out.

For example purposes only, I put OME 891s on my rig. Then I put 380 lbs of wheels/tires in the back to take them for mounting and balancing. I didn't measure, but I would guess it sagged my rear by a good inch and a half. With a 120 lb bumper with swing-out, 80 lb spare, 100 lb platform, then say around 100 lbs of tools and spare parts, you're already at 400 lbs of extra weight. That's going to sag anything. If you only have 2" lift springs, you're going to be close to stock ride height in rear.

Okay, see that is what I have been trying to think about is how much everything will sag. The super flex springs say at 400lbs they are only down .75" from 3.75 to 3 and that is still going to be too tall, so that's why I was thinking 2" coils. If what you say is true with the 1.5" sag then I would go with the 3" coils or just not change...

I had the exact same kit and plan on the superflex going down a bit with weight. I had a tire carrier and when I had people in the back it would drop quite a bit. Then when I would go over bumps it would sometimes bottom out on the bump stops. I was planning on switching to OME 861's.

So basically if you are worried about height, don't be.. you may end up wanting more.

Like others have said, your springs will settle in and loose some lift, and when you add your bumper and spare tire it will come down to about where you want it. After the rear settles in and you get you bumper and stuff on then you can re-adjust the front and have what you are looking for.

Oh wow gotcha. So those super flexes are really soft then.... maybe I will go to a firmer spring in general then cause that soft of a spring worries me when it comes to handling and stability of the rear end especially at higher speed cause there is going to be a lot of highway miles at times. Thanks for the input!

Gotcha. Yeah I am more wondering how much will it settle and sag. Cause if it is going to go down a couple inches then that is where I want it.

Oh and don't worry about your Lady. My wife was worried about me lifting our 08 and now she has pretty much taken it from me. She really likes the lift and how much better it rides.

Hey,

The Superflex coils you have wont settle much with stock weight. They are a softer coil meaning for a smoother ride, but the more you compress, it will be a little stiffer. With a lot of weight in the back you'd probably sag maybe .5 inches to an inch.

We do have some OME coils which will give you the stable ride you are looking for as well. They are 3" coils for stock weight meaning they will go down with weight. Or a 2" coil for stock weight which will go down with weight as well.

Thanks
-Justin

Awesome thanks. You don't happen to have an idea how much the 3" and 2" ome cold will go down? Like number wise? With let's say like 300-400lbs additional weight? Also the rear coils are obviously installed right now and driven on for a couple miles and back to my house. Can I return them and get the OME coils fairly easily?

They sell a super flex coil only a 3" vs the 3.75"

3.75" @$199

3" @$189

( sorry the 3" aren't super flex coils but they look exactly the same and probably flex as good just not as much lift )

If you're going to add a swing out along with loading up the rear, I think it will definitely drop to your liking. I'm assuming you will add a jerry can, highlift jack, etc along with your spare tire. That stuff adds up. I would suggest keeping your coils now and assess your situation after you add everything you want. If you still think it's too high, just put those coils on the classified section and buy the ones you want. I know they will sell quickly.

When I installed my SS 1.2, the rear coils were not tall enough for my liking so I put them up for sale and got responses within the first hour. I ended up getting OEM 861's and never looked back.

I think the best way to go would be the 3 inch OME coil or keep the superflex coils and load the 3-400lbs. You should see about 2 inches of lift with the back constantly loaded. Although every truck will sit a little different.

Perfect thank you! I might swap for the OME if they are a bit stiffer just for a bit more stability.
