ToyTec Superflex Rear Coils

Are these the correct part number for the 861s? I'm going to book mark them if I don't like the 891s.

* 2861 Low height heavy load Rear

No prob. We made them that way for the people running lc shocks or longer so they wouldn't unseat. On one of the 4Runners at the shop, the 890's came unseated at full flex with the shocks that are in it so we wanted to prevent that but not give it a crazy amount of lift.

Always good to hear feedback though! Would anyone be against us bumping the spring rate up?

Seems like those with a lot of extra weight would be all for it, but, the current spring rate seems to be perfect for those who don't plan on adding too much extra weight. So if you do bump up the spring rate please offer both.

Rear sits a little high

I have the superflex's now, they were definitely better than the 891's. However, now that i've brewed up a custom rear bumper and tire carrier which now holds my 33" spare, it sits level. Not complaining about that, level is better than sag, but I still want some rear rake, I dont even have my coolers in there yet! I'm not sure if 861's would be too much for what I'm trying to accomplish, or if the OME trim packers would suffice....

You could do a little spacer but if you install some air bags and a small compressor you can get your height back and have the ability to go soft or tight depending if your on or offroad.

Funny that you bring the air bag scenario up, I just talked to a local offroad enthusiast yesterday who has an air bag set up for years with no problems.

I'm on the fence about air bags because I just dont want them to pop due to offroading. I feel that they are less reliable than springs.

EDIT: my rear bumper and tire carrier with 33" tire is about 225lbs...hub the fender in the rear is 25.5" while the front is 26". You guys think it would be worth to buy the 861? Or I could order 1.5" daystar spacer and cut it down some? My superflex coils arent even 8 months old yet, seems like a waste to swap it our so soon

Just thought I would add my results. I went from worn out stock springs to these rear springs, and Icon dampers all around. The rear lift was significant at 4" (24" hub center to fender flare) with no load (stock bumper and spare location, with full set of skid plates.)

For my usual set up, with a weeks worth of provisions and camping gear loaded up, the springs are still slightly too stiff. However, compared to all the other spring rates and lengths available, these are the best option by a long shot!

Thank you Toytec!

Just installed these coils on my 00' w/ land cruiser shocks. I really like them. This was coming from stock coils with spacers.

I think it sits perfect now. Stock coil/shock in the front with a revtek spacer. Rear is nice and firm, i think before the rear would sink a tiny bit every time i took off from a stop and this helped eliminate that.

I have a quick question. Is there any long travel shock that I could use that would bolt straight onto my 4runner other than the bilstien 5100 ext. I want a shock with a reservoir for when I'm in the desert because my OME shocks fade quick. Any options out there without have to make custom shock mounts?

Yep: ICON 2.5" Diameter Piggyback Manifold Reservoir Rear Shock

There's probably other options out there too, but that's one.

Is there anyone out there who can directly compare their experience with the LC coils vs the Superflexes?

I'm about to start begging .... Please!

I can't DIRECTLY compare but a guy I wheeled with had the sonoran lift. Flexed like crazy with his links disconnected and did everything it should have.

I've had a Jeep guy that was tailgunning ask if I my swaybar was disconnected, and it wasn't! My Superflex coils live up to their name.

I think they are both great. Coke VS Pepsi.

If you're a Toyota Purist go LC coils.
If you like the shiny Bilsteins, go SF coils.
