TPMS from discount tire not working on scs f5

Hey guys,

I had discount tire do the tpms (not oem but their tpms) on my f5 wheels and they don’t work. They won’t read at all on their scanner.

Any ideas on what it could be? Discount tire is blaming the offset...?!

Like they won't bolt on or programming the sensor isn't working?

The offset of the wheel would not make programming an issue as long as they bolted in fine.

Just had a similar issue this week (not at Discount Tire) when I installed new Falkens onto new Ray10's. Weird thing was, the sensors were getting read by their scanner when the wheels were off the truck but soon as they put mounted the wheels onto the truck, the handheld scanner quit being able to register 2 of the 4 sensors. They just kept installing and trying different TPMS sensors. After 3.5 hours, 3 sets of sensors (aftermarket and my EOM's), they finally found a pair of take-offs from a Tundra that worked. I have no idea how or why this worked.

Sorry I dont have a better solution...hope this helps somehow

Same here. I had Discount Tire mount my Nitto G2s on my F5s as well. No problems with the OEM TPMS, but I did have to go back for a rebalance a week or so later.

Ok - problem solved.

In case anyone else has this problem with a discount tire sensor - if your truck is a 2017 or 2018 they need to program it as a 2016 in their system to make it work.

Those that bought Discounts TPMS, how much did they charge? Mine wanted to charge 80/ea, then dropped it to 60/ea when he discovered I was a repeat customer for over 20yrs (asked if I ever bought from them and then entered my ph #).... ordered Denso (OEM) for 33/ea.....

i actually spent about 30 minutes sitting on my phone in a chair at discount tire searching before i gave up and made the post.

expecting someone to scroll thousands of posts while in the middle of trying to solve a problem is a bit absurd. but if hassling me over it makes you happy then more power to you.:thumb:

maybe someone will find this thread useful in the future since i posted what fixed my problem.

mount and balance + TPMS was around 300 total.

this is a forum - people ask questions. i already explained that i searched for 30 minutes and didnt find anything helpful.
