TPMS Question - Wheel Compatibility

Hi Everyone, I have a 2004 Sport V6. After 11 years I am finally having issues with the TPMS sensors needing to be replaced. I am updating the wheels from the stock 2004 sport wheels to a set of 2010 4Runner Trail wheels.

My question is compatibility of the TPMS between the two different wheels. I ordered new sensors based on the year and model of the truck (Part Number: 4260733011) and they arrived yesterday. Just out of curiosity I checked the part number for the 2010 wheel and it is different by only the last two digits (Part Number: 4260733021).

I grabbed one of the 2010 wheels and test fitted the new sensor based on the year of the truck (Part Number: 4260733011) and it appears to fit. Does anyone know what the difference is between the two part numbers? Based on the diagrams online the pictures look the same so I am not sure if I should be concerned.

I would imagine they should sync up... if it were me i would just save the money and do the tpms mod and shut the light off then u can just get rubber valve stems and not worry about the stupid sensors again

If you do put the new ones in, your going to have to have the numbers on the sensors programmed in the TPMS system to work.
So take a picture of the numbers, if not, dealer will have to remove the tire to get the numbers.

I work in a tire shop, so unfortunately I mess with these things daily.
-could be nothing, running part change from Toyota?
-diameter of rubber seal could be different, make sure it seals up tight
-height of rubber seal could be different, causing sensor not to fully clear the rim, which makes the sensor a little cock-eyed and then again it may not seal
-washers or spacers are sometimes included/deleted for same reason, to make sure sensor clears rim.
We use Dill brand sensors, and they show the sensors are interchangeable between the 2 years...

You shouldn't need the ID #s off the sensors, but I guess it depends who is doing the reprogramming. We use a tool that simply scans the sensors after they're installed, and then plugs into the OBDII to transfer the info to the vehicle's ECU. Fairly easy.

Dayum technology, guess they didn't have them scan gauges when I did a 2nd set of tires, but, then again that was in 05.
