TPMS screw up?

I had my SE in for service and the tires were rotated. Today three days later the TPMS came on. I checked the pressure between 29-31 on the tires. I called the service guy. He said come on in all tires including spare have to be at 34 psi. So I drive there and the light goes off. I get there and there is a love in at least 20 cars in the service lane. so I say f it. and head home light is still off. Suggestions?

This is the time of year where there's a big temperature swing between night and day. The pressure in the tires will drop by about 1 psi for every 10 degrees F of temperature drop. The pressure will be low when it's cool, but will go up as the tire heats up and/or it gets warmer outside. That's something to consider when you set the pressure in your tires.

The light comes on when any one of the 5 tires (yes, including the spare) drops to 27 psi.

This same thing happened to me last night! Blah. The high yesterday was probably 65-70 degress and it got down to about 35 degrees at night. That'd explain it. So, I filled up all the tires to 32 PSI per the owner's manual this morning and the light was/is still on. I'm assuming it's the spare that's giving me trouble. I recently got new tires. Hopefully they didn't mess up my TPMS valve stems.

IIRC, it's hard to inflate the spare tire when it is connected to the truck. Is this correct? I'd hate to have to take it to the dealer just to have them put air in the damn thing.

There is a reset button not sure where it is though.

I hate to ask this silly question, but my TPMS light is on because my spare tire is low. Is the spare hard to get down? I have never really looked at it before and I'd hate to have to take it to the stealer just to get air put in. Thanks a lot.

It's pretty easy, depending on the tire pump or air chuck from an air compressor you could inflate it without lowering the tire at all. But you'll most likely need to lie on your back to get to the valve.

To lower the tire, get out the jack tools pouch. It's behind the left wheel well. There are three rod pieces, only two of the them are needed--the one with the hook is unused. When you assemble the two rods together, pay attention to one of them. The male end will go into the cable winch through the bumper by the latching hoop. It goes in at angle, pointed towards the center. It might help to look underneath. It's best to familiarize with getting the spare down. Also the paint over the screws makes it hard to tighten the screws that hold the rods together.
