TPMS Sensor advice

So I want to put on my TRD Pro wheels soon. I would like to keep my Trail wheels along with the tires and sensors that are in it. I want to get the BFG K02 mounted on the TRD wheels. Do I have to buy new sensors? Will the cheap one on EBay work?

Do you have to? No. But then the TPMS light will stay lit on your dash. I don't have sensors in my summer wheels and the light doesn't both me, but if it did I'd put some electrical tape over it and call it a day.

Otherwise the ebay sensors will work, but you'll have to get them programmed at a tire shop or pick up your own device.

Thanks for the input. Yeah the light would bug me and the the electrical tape would be an eye sore. I guess I will look into getting new sensors.

I bought TPMS sensors for my winter wheels/tires from Amazon. (I believe those are OEM.) Amazon prices fluctuate; I paid ~$35 ea ($140 total). $260 seems steep for a 3rd party shop (I think my local tire shop was charging about $180 for a set of 4, including programming).

If you do buy those sensors, the tire shop should be able to check them when they are installed... I think either they work or they don't, there is no "not as good". I would be a little wary of used ones since I think there is a non-replaceable battery in there, but $70 is such a good price it may be worth it.

(Also, maybe you already know this but only one set of sensors can be programmed to the car's computer at a time. If you want to have multiple TPMS sensors you need to reprogram the car every time you swap.)
