TR4 durability

I agree that Toyotas are reliable, but they do have rattles and squeaks. I do have some rattles and minor problems in 03 4runner, but my 98 BMW 323 ti after 100K miles feels rock solid and no rattles at all on hard suspension. I own Japanese and German cars, and like them all, but nothing can compare to German build quality, they feel solid like a rock after many years of use. I can not tell same thing about Japanese cars, they all loose that solid feeling as they get older. I have Acura and Honda and in both I can feel that initial solid feeling disappear. All my BMWs feel like the same day I bought them. Yes, they do have some problems here and there, but Japanese also had similar issues.

Overall I am satisfied with the quality of my 4runner, it truly does what it is build for.

not going to get into an US v. them debate. if the US is doing sh!tty, then so will everyone else in the world. if asia and europe are doing sh!tty, your wallets will be impacted. it's a global economy.

now focusing in on the cars itself... I'd rather have the 4runner be manufactured wholly in Japan than the US. It's a selling point for me.

I recently got a tundra as a loaner. nice truck, but the touch/feel of my '03 4runner outclassed it. diff plastics in the tundra. more american car like. me no likey.
