TRAC - off or on while off roading 2wd?

Hey everyone! I know this subject has been beaten to death, but I've done some research myself and I've seen a lot of conflicting answers so I figured I'd ask you guys.

I have a '04 SR5 V6 2wd, and while I don't plan on doing any serious off-roading that a 2wd can't handle, I do want to have fun every once in a while when I get my lift done in a couple weeks. I would just like to know if when I do, should the TRAC be on or off? Any replies are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Personally I'm usually 50/50. I'm in an 08 and can fully turn the system off at the push of a button. I usually run with it fully off. Then if I get hung up and am spinning a tire I'll turn it back on. Haven't been stuck yet. This may not be the right way to do it though and I'm sure others will have other opinions.

So many different conditions can be encountered off-road... the right answer is whatever works better for you in your given situation.

One thing you can do is just play with it... test, learn, and come up with your own conclusions.

For a casual trail drive or something like that, it probably won't really make a lick of difference.

I have gone as far as dumping my zero-point calibration in hopes to disable nanny systems like VSC and TRAC. Drives fine for me but I haven't spent enough time testing in the sand since it's 110F in the deserts right now.

Thanks for the responses guys! Will definitely have to try both out this weekend.
