Traction control

When you lock thye center diff you turn on the skid control (VSC) not the ATRAC. Look for some write ups by Thai. But basically you dont want the ATRAC off, it is the skid control that throttles back on the gas when the tires slip not the ATRAC.

Just curious. There's a button in my M3 to turn off traction control and I didn't see one in the 4Runner.

Thanks for the responses :D.

psss this isn't a m3 so don't even think about cornering at 100+ mph! ;) then again it'd be cool just see someone try! (video time!!!)

sorry mine isn't worthy of a 30mph corner so... ugh lol

It would be nice to turn the system off. If you need to "step on it" (at a full stop) to avoid an accident, the damm system kicks in affecting wheel spin and throtel control. The one and only time I was cursing my 4Runner.

Ya, and I can't do donuts in the snow  If that's what you wanna do, the best way I found was to put it in 4low and hammer on it. It's got so much damn torque in 4low seems like the traction control can't keep and and you'll get a nice 360 out of it before it shuts you down hehe

Lock the Diff

Donuts in the snow are great fun. :D

All you have to do is lock the Differential. The button is located on the left side of the dash, next to the 115VAC button (if you have that option).

would doing these things damage your ride in any way? anyone try a burnout in 2wd mode?

I've tried it on gravel and no joy. The ATRAC cuts power to the slipping wheel. It does slip momentarily though, but not considered a burnout...
