Trading in FJ for 2012 TE - need advice

My 2012 mag grey TE has finally arrived this weekend to dealership and I will be picking up next week. Trading in FJ cuz need more room with 2 kids. I have read many great posts and am now seeking opinions and advice.
Tint windows - should I let the dealership tint the front 2 windows. They will only tint with 35% or should I take elsewhere and get a darker tint. I see lots of folks on here have 20%. Does anyone know of any reputable tint places in Houston Texas. I googled Texas tint laws and it appears 25% is max for Texas.
If I plan on getting either weather tech or husky liners, do I need the carpet floor mats or will they just get in the way. Prob a no brainier ?? Which do u like better
Sliders with step out. What's your fav. I read a post that Demello is no longer making these sliders. I really like those. Have them on my fj now and bummer they will not fit on 4R TE

An aftermarket tint will be a lot cheaper with higher quality film. Most tinters will bend the tint laws - getting a matching 20% def won't be a problem. The carpet mats are removed before installing aftermarket mats, not installed on top of the carpet ones. If you don't have to buy the carpet ones then don't - waste of money and have very little resale due to no demand and high supply. Congrats on making the switch - I love my TE!

I tinted my front windows to 18% and had the rears matched by my window guy (this is car number 4 he has done).

If you get the liners you don't need the carpet as said above.

Sliders with step out....BudBuilt all the way, thinking I might swap out my Shrockworks for them after seeing Ride's

Are you only looking at the floor mats or the cargo one as well? I'm happy with my Husky liners but ended up returning the cargo liner. It just didn't seem to fit on the sliding tray very well. I ended up buying a couple of cheap doormats made of recycled tires from Walmart and tossing them on the cargo tray instead.

Thanks good to know. I am hoping my fj cargo mat will fit? If it doesnt i was gonna get the husky liner, but now maybe not. Definitely a good idea with the door mats. Another idea I thought about is we have these big rubber mats we use on top of workbenches that we set computers on. If my fj mat doesn't work I may get something like that and cut it

I know the mats you're talking about and I think that'd work pretty well. If you want to try the Husky get it locally and make sure you can return it if you don't like it. Maybe I was just too picky about it and other people are fine with it.

Canvasback is the way to go with sliding tray IMO.

I made the switch from FJ to 4R and never looked back. The FJ was a great truck, but the 4R is exactly what I was looking for.

For the liners, I went with the Toyota ones. I used Huskies in the FJ, and while they were good, I never had a problem with the OEM style ones in past trucks, so I kept with what I consider time tested.

The OEM cargo liner is top notch. It snaps on to the tray, and fits perfectly. You can even throw the carpet cargo liner (if it came with your rig) over it and it fits perfect. You will not regret the OEM cargo liner.
