Trailer Hitch Question

Finally got around to doing a home made removable mount for the Prodigy brake control. Others have mounted it on the fuse panel door. I used some left over material to make a clip type slide on mount for the same location. A piece of 3/4" wood sandwiched between 2 pieces of 3/16" material with an open end. Prodigy holder attached on other end.
Ghetto mount but it works.

Spliced the wiring harness to the Toy OEM pigtail harness that came with the truck. Snaps into the connector above the kick panel. Pic of the harness location hanging from under the dash.

The controller is within easy reach to manually activate the brakes if necessary. Everything is removable. Tuck the harness up under the panel when not in use.

Ready to roll... and stop.

Actually not sure if this 200 Km tow (mostly Hwy 401) is going to happen...

An update.

Helped pick up this trailer. It came with a WD hitch setup that had the ball lower than on my simple weight carrying bar so I used that. Using the bars is optional so I did and just didn't snug them up overly tight (didn't want to stress the rear cross member.) The ball could still have been lower to get level but it was at the lowest position and workable. Verified the weights on a truck scale. Loaded the tongue correctly and didn't cause the front of the truck to lift. Tracked nice without any sway. 3700 lbs towed no problem with the V6 but kept the speed down due to wind resistance.

Proceeded to borrow the trailer for my own vacation. Kept all the heavy gear in the truck to keep the trailer light. Long trip but the only thing that suffered was the drastic drop in mpg.

Brake controller worked like a charm.
