trailer hitch rating

i've got a '00 SR5 with tow package and stock suspension. anyone know what the hitch rating is in lbs? i put my motorcycle on a hitch carrier and off i go, but i'm curious as to how close i am to the limits of the hitch. it's not rolling weight, but dead weight of the rack and the bike, is too much for the rating of the hitch?

i didn't notice any problems with the front end being lifted or lighter, but anyone with suggestions to level out the rear when loaded? '99 springs? airbags? how do those work?

This is something you could have searched and found out in 5 seconds.

Tongue = 500 lbs. max.
Towing cap.= 5000 lbs. max


You want to know how airbags work for springs, really?

99 Springs are taller, and air bags do amazingly well for keeping the rear leveled out under load.
