Tranny Cooler

Was wondering about the transmission cooler on the new V8's. Since I'm interested in towing with the 4Runner, it is important to know how effective it is. Most RV people recommend installing a larger one, which attaches to the outside of the radiator.

I'll be buying a Sport V8 for the larger brakes & Xreas - wonder if maybe they have added tranny cooling too.

I believe that the tranny cooler for the V8 is external to the radiator (standard feature)...just like the aftermarket ones. In fact, it's quite hefty in size too!

So, if you're planning to tow within limits, then you do not need another tranny cooler.
