Tranny is Shot am I overpaying ?

So after taking it to a shop to have them diagnose my problems with my tranny it seems that a clutch pack has gone bad and some sort of actuator. The shop has quoted me for parts and labor 3762.12 $ for a brand new tranny and install with fluids and a 3 year / 100,000 mile warranty. Ive called around to get other quotes and others have said 2868.40 but this is a "soft" rebuild and doesn't take in additional "Hard" parts in the transmission. Any suggestions? I could go to a pick n pull and i have dropped a tranny before but it would be nice to get a warranty.

Blew my Tranny last fall at Pismo Beach. I did post on here. I got a low mileage from international wrecker down on chestnut/99. Low mileage as in that's what they claim, who knows. That seem to be the average price when I was shopping. But I got it for $700 and gave it to a small local shop near me who did it for $700 plus fluid. No issue thus far with valvoline max life fluid. 4 months warranty on the tranny...laughable but was tight on money. LKQ also a good source. They have a few wrecker throughout the valley and will deliver here at their local office for free.

I was told it was 70k plus. I forgot exactly. It's a gamble. You can ask the wrecker for some sort of labor guarantee if it's bad. I don't think removal and install is difficult if you have something to support the heavy a** tranny. It is the wife DD so I need it done fast which the shop did in 3 days. At that time LKQ wrecker had one @105k for $500. I would have taken it but it would be another day and of course wife is already pissed that the tranny went kaput. And honestly I had older gen 4runner and pick up that took more abuse than this. The girls were taking turns driving it on the sand and one happen to get stuck. Revved it a few times and I told to stop. Pulled it out and smell something. Didn't think much of it and drove home till it started slipping right at Kettleman city. At Kettleman city I notice the runner side and back was covered with oil. Anyways I took a blind journey and did ask the wrecker for a labor guarantee which he wrote on my ticket. Also it wouldn't hurt to ask for longer warranty. I'd say these tranny are pretty solid with low rate failure.
