Trans coolers with fan

Hayden in my old runner and mishimoto in my track car, both great companies. I would go towards the Hayden tho because o the design, lots of space taken by the external pipes from mishi.
 
Had the Derale on my Bronco, it worked well. Began opening up at 170F and fully opened by 185F.

Any of them should work well. Make sure your fan clutch is working well also.
 
I have the a hayden with a 7" electric fan wired to a rocker switch in the cab. These are the units I used.

The fan mounted super easy with the included hardware. The only thing I needed was a few bolts and a 3/8" drill bit to mount it. If you go this route keep in mind the fan is set to pull not push. To convert it to push simply undo the nut holding the fan on and turn the fan over. Then when you wire it wire it in reverse. Positive becomes a negative and the negative becomes the positive. Now the motor spins backwards and you have a push fan.

I also installed a AutoMeter trans temp sensor at the same time cause my 97 can't read the trans temp any other way. It's an easy half day project for all of it. My temps went from idiot light high when wheeling to never over 195. It's worth it for sure.
