trans ID issue

Have an auto trans from a 99 4runner 3.4 4x4.
Should be a 340f. Atempting to replace the trans in a 2001. The door codes are the same other then that and bell housing nothing matches up. Trying to get solid info on both to see what can be done.

Won't work. 3 different TRANS for the 3rd gen.

96-98 had one

99-00 had another.

01-02 had another.

Valve bodies and ect were different. Same casing, but differences where they won't work.

I do have the complete 99 donor. Swapping everything an option? Or is that a no go too

You CAN, but you're asking for more trouble than it's worth.

At that point you might as well just swap the '01 body on to the '99 frame and call it a day.


Talking more than likely the ECU, then O2 sensors, the intake, and who knows what else.
