Just reporting in as I noticed I never contributed to this thread before.
Location: Ottawa Ontario Canada.
Elevation: 230 ft.
City established on the bank of a river and spans the valley.
Average Environment/climate/weather:
- Summer = 55F to 75F & more sun than rain
- Winter = 12F to 28F & more snow than not
Vehicle:
1997 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4 (4.30 gears w/ e-locker)
265/75R16 Tires on OEM Split Spoke 16" wheels
B&M 70268 Cooler (Bypassed)
Cooler is installed directly against the AC condenser, passenger side.

Dual Sensor setup
- 1 sensor as close to trans line out as I could get
- 1 sensor as close to B&M Trans cooler line out as I could get
Use:
Daily use, no hard wheeling.
No armour or extra weight beyond oem skids
Recorded trans temps (always trans line out temp):
On hottest day of summer (91F), trans temps hit 185F in Stop and Go traffic.
On coldest day of winter (-13F), trans temp hit 150F in Stop and Go traffic.
I know my rig never really sees extremes, but I figured I could still contribute "average/moderate use" data.
For the "regular Joe" in South-East Canada/North-East US, I think there is absolutely no reason why bypassing shouldn't be done, as long as the cooler has a low-temp bypass built-in.
