Transfer case leaking 2011

Well I should have looked this one over better. Got a pretty fair price but would have negotiated more had I seen this.

Any idea if it's leaking between the Tcase and transmission or at the rear of the Tcase? I did some forum searching and it seems pretty common.






Besides this it's mint.

sorry no help on the t-case. But, that is the best color ever put on a 5th gen. Well maybe quicksand........
The pearl in that Blue paint picks up all kinds of different colors.

Try cleaning up the discoloration with a degreaser of some sort and then watch over time to see if/where it recurs.

looks like this was recently worked on .. could be a seal was replaced and the repair shop did a sloppy job and did not clean up the oil residue.

I'm not sure if you've used brake cleaner before, but it's magic for stuff like this.

Spray the brake cleaner liberally on the bottom of the transfer case, and it will make the oil disappear. It will dry very quickly. Then, over the coming days, it will be very obvious where the oil seepage is coming from.. what catrains says is true (which I agree with) it won't show up again.

Thanks for the replies. That's exactly what I did. Going to put some miles on it going to get a new set of tires and rims tomorrow. Thank you guys I will update you when I know more
